Homemade hummus is fantastic. For those who have never had homemade hummus, it is different in texture and taste then the store bought versions you are used to. I prefer my hummus a little chunkier with a heavy dousing of tahini. Regardless, homemade hummus is a treat that anyone can get on board with because the sheer ease with which it is made.
Ingredients
2 cups chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
1/4-1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
juice of one lemon juice
2-4 tbsp olive oil
2-4 tbsp water or reserved liquid from the chickpeas
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
Fresh cracked pepper

Directions
1. Turn on the food processor with chickpeas, 2 tbsp reserved liquid, and 2 tbsp olive oil.
2. Process until the hummus is coarsely pureed.
3. Add tahini, lemon juice, and additional reserved liquid depending on your preference of creaminess versus chunkiness.
4. Taste, for seasoning, and serve chilled or at room temperature.
